The 2017 annual report is out !

For eleven years, Bibliothèques Sans Frontières has been helping to reinvent libraries, both in their form and mission, and in the way they are perceived and appropriated by the most vulnerable populations.

Whether virtual or physical, fixed or mobile, libraries give everyone the tools to better understand the world. Today, they have much more to offer than a collection of books, giving free access to the new instruments of education, information and digital. They also play a fundamental role for equal rights : they are places of discovery, social mixing and emancipation. They are the very foundation of a society opened to the world and carry within them the capacity to imagine the future.

Libraries Without Borders also intervenes on the grounds of humanitarian urgency by militating for a better taking into account of the intellectual needs of the populations in danger. With the help of many partners, Bibliothèques Sans Frontières creates programs to strengthen formal and non-formal education, protection, psycho-social support and community building. Culture is a great lever for peace and reconciliation : a foundation for society. Wherever we support migrants and refugees, from camps to emergency shelters, libraries ease tensions.
