Reducing Social Inequalities Linked to Health

In 2017, LWB developed its first themed Ideas Box in the community agglomeration of Boulonnais : The Health Ideas Box – CNP Insurances. This Ideas Box promotes the implementation of health-related activities with children, adolescents, and young adults. By offering suitable content, it allows them a better understanding and capacity to manage the physical and emotional disruptions of their lives. Our team selected five themes of intervention: emotional and sexual relationships; well-being and poor-being; drug and substance abuse prevention; healthy diets, physical activity and sleep; and access to medical rights and care. The workshops also made them into content creators (of videos and plays), which were then broadcasted to their peers. In 2019, the city of Sarcelles hosted a second Health Ideas Box.

Burundi : Becoming Better Informed about Sexual and Reproductive Health

In setting up Ideas Cube units in 25 youth community centers, LWB reinforced the quality and the access to information on sexual and reproductive health for young Buruandinians, notably adolescents. We trained many local partners in mediation workshops and awareness based content, hand picked by our team. Thanks to digital and video cameras, the users can also create their own content and share their work with colleagues.

Central African Republic : Contributing to the Improvement of Care for Individuals Living with HIV

Since 2013, the Central African Republic has faced a chronic and complex crisis over security, socio-political challenges, and humanitarian issues with serious consequences for the living conditions of the population, especially access to healthcare and other basic services. The country is experiencing a visible HIV epidemic, and access to care and the follow-up of people living with HIV/AIDS presents many challenges.

In 2019, the French Red Cross sought the expertise of LWB in the context of a project of nutritional and psychological support for people living with HIV from the Ambulatory Treatment Center, and the Information Unit on HIV (IUHIV) of Bangui. Together, we helped to strengthen and to improve the comprehensive care of these individuals.

LWB selected specific digital content to complement the resources developed by the Red Cross, and integrated this content into an Ideas Cube Kit. Deployed within the IUHIV since November 2019, this kit allows caregivers and volunteers – all trained for its use by LWB – to access relevant information that improves their professional care of people living with HIV.
