In France

Building bridges between generations

Initiated by LWB in 2019, “Between Generations” is a documentary series that promotes intergenerational exchanges between residents of the same
neighborhood in France. Supported by the Comité Interministériel de Prévention de la Délinquance et de la Radicalisation, the project encourages young people to film and interview their elders on themes of their own choosing: the notion of identity, solidarity or the sense of belonging to a community. In 2022, five new videos were were made in Marseille, Villepinte, Toul, La Teste-de-Buch and Koungou in Mayotte.

A Training Course Around Citizenship

In 2016, we collaborated with the Departement du Nord Library to develop a training course around citizenship for professionals and volunteers of the libraries. LWB organized several design thinking workshops with librarians and supervised the collective work of building an online training course “ Library and Citizen “ composed of ten videos (and which complements the online training platform for BSF Campus).

Understanding secularism to better defend it

Realized in partnership with the association ACELEM, “Between Generations’ is an experimental and intergenerational project that seeks to undo stereotypes and prejudices about the vulnerable neighborhoods of Marseille. In an effort to rehabilitate their city, culture, and religions, around twenty young people from Marseille produced a series of short documentaries in which they tell their stories and those of their elders.

Produced under the artistic direction of photographer Jean-Pierre Vallorani, these videos question the feeling of belonging to our common history, identity, our place in society as well as our relationship to others. They  also promote intergenerational dialogue. These documentaries have helped the participants develop self-esteem and critical judgement.
