Ganja is Azerbaijan's second largest city and it is located on the border with Georgia, near the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Libraries Without Borders participated in the eighth edition of the “French Village” that took place in Ganja from July 22-26th, 2013. Forty five French teachers, most of them natives of Ganja, Tovuz, Gazakh, Baku and Nakhchivan received a training course organized by the SCAC (French Cooperation – Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and the French Institute of Azerbaijan (IFA).

Our Approach

Patrick Weil and Jérémy Lachal, the Chairman and the Executive Director of Libraries Without Borders respectively, were present on this occasion to accompany the delivery of 500 French classic books destined to schools in the region, professors and the universities of Ganja and Nakhchivan.

These books allowed teachers and students to practice French and to best support the French sector in Azerbaijan.
